The Seven Wonders of Poland (Polish: Siedem cudów Polski) was a short list of cultural wonders located in Poland. The creation of the list was initiated by the leading Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita in a country-wide plebiscite held in September 2007.1 The results were published in the following month.2
Initially over 400 national monuments were selected as candidates by the magazine online-readers, however in the second round of selections a board of experts reduced the number to 27. The third and last round of public on-line voting started on 31 August 2007, to choose the top seven wonders. Results of the popular vote were announced on 21 September 2007.

Tatra National Park
Tatra National Park (Polish: Tatrzański Park Narodowy; abbr. TPN) is a National Park located in the Tatra Mountains in Tatra County, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship?Małopolska region, in central-southern Poland bordering on northern Slovakia.1
The Park has its headquarters in the town of Zakopane. There is a similar national park in the adjoining part of Slovakia, also called the Tatra National Park Tatranský národný park.
The area of the Tatra mountains was exploited by human activities in the past. During summer numerous herds of animals (such as goats, sheep, and cows) pastured on the meadows and these practices caused erosion processes. In the 18th and 19th centuries several mines and ironworks were built here, industries that used substantial harvests of local timber.
Current environmental threats include: the proximity of the fast-developing town of Zakopane; and air pollution from the industrial zones in Kraków, Ostrava, and Orava. Fauna is threatened by poachers and habitat loss.
The high number of tourists is the largest threat to Park?s ecosystem currently. Also, the infrastructure, such as hotels and car parks, is not sufficient for the current volume of visitors.

Winter activities in Poland
Many people take time off work during the winter and spends time in the Polish tourist resorts. Tourists come to the mountain resorts especially during the winter holidays. Such centers are adapted to the needs of single travelers and families. Although Poland is not a country known for its winter resorts, but staying in Zakopane or other mountain resorts for many people can be attractive and memorable, the more that take place in Poland more and more sporting events associated with winter sports and events related to the celebration of Carnival. Other attractions related to mountain tourism are walks in the mountains, sleigh rides and skiing lessons. As a result, Poland mountaineering can constantly develop and attract more and more people.
